Pediatric Emergency Services
A trip to the Emergency Room is a big deal – especially for our littlest patients.
Our pediatric emergency services include eight beds dedicated especially for our pint-sized patients as well as an emergency room staff trained to approach children on their own level.
Pediatric Emergency Services are an extension of Rapides Regional Medical Center’s existing Level II emergency department. The services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pediatricians staff the Emergency Department from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, so parents can choose to see a pediatrician during their visit.
The Pediatric Emergency Services are designed to be both parent- and kid-friendly. Patients have access to child-sized hospital gowns, coloring books, stickers, CD players and headphones, DVD players and movies - all in an effort to make their ER experience a bit less scary.
