Rapides Regional receives ‘Capstone Quality Award’
Rapides Regional Medical Center has received the 2011 Louisiana Hospital Capstone Quality Award from eQHealth Solutions.
This award recognizes Rapides Regional Medical Center as one of only 24 hospitals in the state for achieving certain improvements in the quality of health care given to their patients. This is the fifth year in a row that RRMC has received such an award.
Previously titled the Louisiana Hospital Quality Awards – with designated levels of Platinum, Gold and Silver - the Louisiana Hospital Capstone Quality Awards are based on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ inpatient quality initiatives and recognize hospital achievement in appropriate care for patients with diagnoses of:
- Heart attack
- Heart failure
- Surgical care
The award was presented on May 3 in Baton Rouge.
“This award once again shows that Rapides Regional Medical Center uses evidence-based practices to assure that consistent medical care for all patients is carried out,” said Babson Fresh, M.D., Rapides Regional Medical Center’s vice president of medical affairs. “Our combined efforts were successful in improving the quality of care provided to our patients.
“We are proud of the quality initiatives being carried out here. We are realizing direct benefits as patient health improves and lives are saved,” Fresh said.
