Four Rapides Regional Medical Center nursing units have earned 2023 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction recognition for being in the Top 10 percent of all HCA Healthcare nursing units.

The HCA Unit of Distinction Award is an annual program that recognizes and rewards exemplary nursing units. The Unit of Distinction designation is achieved through measurable, exemplary performance in the strategic areas of advocacy and leadership, consistency in nursing practice and operations and leveraging scale to improve patient care.

“This is further proof of our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to our community,” said Rapides Regional Medical Center CEO Vernon Jones. “These units take care of our tiniest patients all the way to our most senior of patients. We congratulate our managers and nursing colleagues, as well as everyone here at Rapides Regional Medical Center.”

The awards were announced Tuesday, with 199 nursing units recognized.

Launched in 2015, the Unit of Distinction Awards are an essential component of HCA Healthcare’s strategic nursing plan to make Rapides Regional Medical Center and HCA’s more than 2,300 sites of care a premier career destination for nurses.
