Rapides Regional Medical Center sends this year’s  “Seasons Greetings” with the help of the 2016 Holiday Art Contest winner.

The annual contest is open to students at Rapides Regional Medical Center’s Partners in Education school, Phoenix Magnet Elementary. Participants were asked to design a piece of artwork with a holiday theme.

Winners receive $100, $75 and $50 gift cards for first, second and third place, respectively.

Kara Speir, 11, is the first-place winner. Kara’s design featured a living room Christmas scene complete with sleeping dog, roaring fire and Christmas stockings, lights and a dusting of snow outside.

Patience Smith, 11, was the second-place winner. Her drawing featured a snowy night and a cozy black cat.

Sarah Bell, 7, was the third-place winner. Sarah’s drawing featured a Christmas tree with a shining star and a sleeping baby laying in a manger.

Kara’s artwork is featured on Rapides Regional Medical Center’s 2016 holiday greeting cards. Her artwork is also on display in multi-media digital and billboard formats on behalf of the hospital. Prizes were awarded during a recent holiday assembly.

Select artwork submitted by Phoenix students will be on display at Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital through December.
